The Toolbox
What tools does a one-person marketing operation actually need in 2026? Five: an AI assistant (~€20/mo), a design desk, a video desk, a voice, and an automator — a working stack of roughly €50–75 a month. This page is the book's living appendix: every tool it names, with tier, price, and a one-line verdict, refreshed every quarter.
The book's chapters are written in ink (skills that survive the tools); this page is the pencil. When this page and a tool's own pricing page disagree, believe the pricing page — and reread the five clauses below before you do.
The three stacks at a glance
| Stack | Monthly | What's in it |
|---|---|---|
| €0 — proving | €0 | Gemini free + ChatGPT free + Canva free + Kling daily credits. For proving you'll build the habits — weeks, not months. |
| Working — operating | ~€50–75/mo | One €20 assistant + Canva Pro + one video sub + ElevenLabs + Suno as needed. The book's default. |
| Power — earned | ~€150–300/mo | A €100+ assistant tier after documented quota pain + an aggregator + avatar tools + automation fees. |
The upgrade signal between any two stacks: quota pain, weekly, with revenue attached. Not aspiration.

The assistant
Chapters 2–4One of the first three. The €20 tier is the sweet spot — the €100+ tiers buy limits, not intelligence.
| Tool | Price | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Probook default | ~€20/mo | The book's lean for writing-heavy work — best prose and long documents; Projects, Skills, scheduled tasks, Research mode. |
| ChatGPT Plus | ~€20/mo | The breadth pick — biggest ecosystem, strong image generation, Projects, Tasks, ~10 Deep Research runs a month. |
| Google AI Pro | ~€20/mo | The bundle pick — Workspace integration, Deep Research, Gems, and Veo video credits included. |
| Gemini free tier | €0 | The most generous €0 assistant going — the right start for the proving stack. |
| AI detectors | — | Not recommended for any workflow — unreliable in both directions. Write well with a voice file instead. |
The design desk
Chapter 5| Tool | Price | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Image generation inside your assistantbook default | included | GPT Image in ChatGPT, the Nano Banana line in Gemini — covers 90% of small-business needs; Gemini's line is the benchmark for conversational editing and product consistency. |
| Canva Probook default | ~€15/mo | The assembly line — templates, brand kit, batch resize. Generation makes ingredients; Canva makes deliverables. |
| Midjourney | €10–60/mo, no free tier | The aesthetics-first specialist; commercial rights on all paid tiers. |
| Ideogram | ~€7–16/mo | Text-heavy graphics — posters, quote cards, labels. |
| Recraft | ~€10/mo | Vector output, logos, locked brand styles. |
| Photoroom | ~€10–20/mo | High-volume product-photography pipelines: shoot once, lift, stage, finish. |
| Freepik (Magnific) aggregator | ~€6–25/mo | Thirty-plus models under one subscription — for when you've outgrown the assistant tools, never before. |
The video desk
Chapter 6| Tool | Price | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Veo line via Google AI Probook default | ~€20/mo (incl. assistant) | The all-around quality leader; native audio — dialogue in quotes arrives spoken and lip-synced. |
| Runwaybook default | ~€12/mo | The marketer's workhorse — reference-driven consistency, built-in editor, several top models bundled. Do the division: ≈25 seconds of top-model video on the standard tier. |
| Kling | free daily credits; ~€10/mo | The most generous free practice tier; strong multi-shot sequences. |
| Synthesia | ~€14/mo | Founder/explainer avatars — a personal avatar included at the entry tier. |
| HeyGen | ~€27+/mo | The avatar high end; credit-based — price your real monthly volume before committing. |
| Arcads / Captions | ~€10–40/mo | Licensed-actor AI UGC ads at volume — the money use case. |
| Opus Clip | ~€10–15/mo | Long video → captioned vertical clips; word-by-word captions are table stakes. |
| † 2026 | The most famous video model of 2025, shut down by its maker within a year. Kept here so this page is never mistaken for ink. |
The recording booth
Chapter 7| Tool | Price | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| ElevenLabs Creatorbook default | ~€22/mo | The clone tier: professional voice clone + commercial license — the best price-to-superpower ratio in the book. |
| ElevenLabs Starter | ~€6/mo | Instant cloning + commercial license; fine for testing, not for publishing. |
| NotebookLMbook default | €0 | Document in, two-host podcast out. Steer the focus; accept the limited edit control. |
| YouTube auto-dubbing | €0 | Turn it on today — dubbing into dozens of languages at no cost. |
| Suno Probook default | ~€8/mo | The commercial-rights music tier. Free tiers of every music tool are non-commercial — the one rule with no judgment calls. |
The machine room
Chapter 8The ladder: rung one until it demonstrably can't express your workflow. Most readers should never need rung three — that's the success condition.
| Tool | Price | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Zapierbook default | €0–20/mo | Rung one, most connections; AI drafting steps directly in the pipe. |
| Make | €0–15/mo | Rung one, cheaper at volume, more visual. |
| Lindy-class agent tools | ~€20–50/mo | Rung two — describe the job in plain language; keep the mandates appliance-narrow. |
| n8n | ~€0–20/mo (self-hostable) | Rung three — genuinely technical, genuinely powerful. |
| Claude artifact-style toolsbook default | in the €20 assistant | Prototype your lead-magnet calculator free before spending anything. |
| Lovable / Replit | ~€20–25/mo | Vibe coding for non-technical builders; Replit when the app must keep working. |
Front of house
Chapter 9| Tool | Price | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| The manual visibility logbook default | €0 | Three questions × three assistants × monthly — honestly sufficient for a year or more. Start here. |
| AI-visibility trackers (Profound-class) | agency-priced | The measuring category to watch; adopt when the log outgrows a spreadsheet. |
| Schema / FAQ markup | €0 | The technical 20% — one afternoon; your assistant can generate its own markup. |
The house rules — live bookmarks
No tools here, just the pages worth a fifteen-minute skim each January. The working rule that outlives every policy revision: realistic synthetic humans or scenes → visible label + tick the platform's box, every time.
- EU AI Act, Article 50 (transparency & labeling) — in force since 2 August 2026
- YouTube — disclosing altered or synthetic content — the upload checkbox
- TikTok — AI-generated content policy — label + auto-detection
- Meta — ad standards & AI disclosure — strictest for social/political ads
- Google Ads policies — “How this ad was made”
