FUTURE PROOF MARKETER

/MARKETING-STACK · THE STACK · UPDATED AUGUST 2026

A complete marketing department for $67 a month.

Seven tools, one per job: strategy, video, voice, email, CRM, funnel planning and social. This is the stack we'd hand anyone starting a one-person marketing operation today — challengers over incumbents, every price checked, comfortably under the €100/month line with headroom to spare.

ONE TOOL PER JOB · PRICES CHECKED 2026-08 · TOTAL ≈ $67/MO (≈ €62)

The stack at a glance

Three paid subscriptions, four free tiers that are genuinely usable at solo scale. The jobs a five-person team would split — strategist, video producer, email marketer, sales ops, social manager — each get exactly one tool.

Some links below are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It funds the testing budget and never changes a verdict — affiliate policy.

The seven jobs, one tool each

01

ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro

Strategy & copy — $20/mo

The one subscription we'd keep if we could only keep one. Positioning drafts, campaign plans, ad variants, email sequences, briefs for every other tool in this stack — the assistant is the strategist and copywriter the other six tools take orders from. Whether you pick ChatGPT or Claude matters less than building the habit of starting every task there. (No affiliate program exists for either — this one's in the stack purely on merit.)

Watch out: Output quality tracks input quality — invest in your prompts and keep a library of the ones that work.

02

HeyGen

Video engine — $29/mo

The biggest line item, and the one that changes what a team of one can ship: script in, publishable avatar clip out, translations with lip-sync included. Video stops being a filming day and becomes a task between other tasks.

Watch out: Credits burn fast if you publish daily — the real cost can sit one plan above the sticker price.

03

ElevenLabs

Voice & narration — $6/mo

The best €-to-output ratio in the whole stack. Clone your voice once and every script you write can ship as narrated video, podcast audio or a dubbed translation — no recording session, no studio.

Watch out: Names and jargon need phonetic spelling tricks, and character quotas shrink fast when you iterate.

05

Attio

CRM — free

A modern, genuinely pleasant CRM that's free up to 3 seats and 50,000 records — which is to say, free at exactly your size. Pipelines, email sync, flexible objects; no consultant-grade setup.

Watch out: No marketing automation on board — pair it with MailerLite and let each tool do its own job.

06

Funnelytics

Funnel planning — free

Map every campaign before you build it. The free mapping canvas is enough to plan funnels, present them to clients, and spot the bottleneck before it costs you money — we've used it before every campaign since 2017.

Watch out: The analytics side lives in the paid tiers; at this budget you're using it as a planning canvas.

07

Metricool

Social scheduling — free

One calendar for every channel, with analytics that tell you what actually landed. The free plan covers a solo operation's scheduling needs, which at this budget makes it automatic.

Watch out: Free-plan limits move over time — check the current caps against your channel count before relying on it.

What we deliberately left out

A paid SEO suite (Surfer, Semrush). The first upgrade once revenue flows — but at month one, Search Console plus your AI assistant covers the basics for free.

Synthesia. Excellent for structured training video, but HeyGen covers the solo use case and the budget doesn't need both — see the full comparison.

beehiiv. If your newsletter is the business, swap it in for MailerLite — we compare them here.

HubSpot, ActiveCampaign and the rest of the old guard. Great software priced for teams that aren't you. That's the whole reason this page exists.

Starting cheaper, or scaling up

This is the middle configuration of three. The €0 version (free tiers everywhere, for validating an idea) and the €297 version (SEO suite, video at scale, automation glue — for when revenue is flowing) live side by side in The One-Person Marketing Department — our free guide, re-checked quarterly.

Questions we actually get

Is $67 a month really enough to run marketing solo?

For strategy, content, video, email, CRM, funnel planning and social scheduling — yes, this stack covers every job. What it doesn't buy is a paid SEO suite or ad budget; those come later, funded by what this stack produces. The point is that the tools are no longer the bottleneck: your hours are.

Why isn't there an SEO tool in the stack?

Because at this budget, Google Search Console (free) plus an AI assistant covers keyword research and content briefs well enough to start. A paid suite like Surfer or Semrush earns its slot once you're publishing consistently — that's the first upgrade we'd make with revenue.

Can I start even cheaper?

Yes — the €0 version swaps paid plans for free tiers: ChatGPT free, HeyGen's trial credits, MailerLite free to 1,000 subscribers, plus Attio, Funnelytics and Metricool which are already free here. Our free stack guide lays out the €0, €97 and €297 configurations side by side.

Do you earn from these recommendations?

From some of them, yes — via disclosed affiliate links that never change a verdict (ChatGPT and Claude, notably, have no affiliate programs at all; they're in the stack because they belong there). Every tool listed is one we pay for or actively use, and every price carries the date we checked it.
