Best Product Research Tools for Dropshipping (2026): 8 Store Spies, Ad Spies and TikTok Shop Trackers Compared

Some links below are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It funds the testing budget and never changes a verdict — affiliate policy.
You don't need any of these tools for your first product. The free 30-minute routine finds enough candidates to test. But once you test several products a week, the manual work becomes the bottleneck, and then a paid tool can save you hours.
The trouble is that "product research tool" covers four different jobs, and most comparison lists mix them up. This post sorts eight popular tools by job, so you pay for the one you'll actually use.
Prices, trials and refund rules were checked on the vendors' own pages in September 2026, and Trustpilot scores on Trustpilot. Where a vendor hides a fact, we say so. We have no affiliate deal with any of the eight; the links go straight to the vendors. This is a research comparison, not a hands-on test.

Our picks: Winning Hunter if you find products through ads. Sell The Trend if you want everything in one tool. FastMoss for TikTok Shop in Europe.
First, a warning about revenue numbers
Every tool below shows sales or revenue estimates, and none of them can see a store's real sales. Store spies guess from traffic, product changes, ad activity and an assumed conversion rate. The results can be wildly off: users have reported stores shown at $175,000 or $200,000 a month that really took under $1,000.
So read the numbers as direction, not proof. "This store is growing faster than that one" is useful. "This product makes $80k a month" is not something any of these tools knows. Your own test is still the only proof. TikTok Shop trackers are more reliable here, because TikTok shows public sold counts, but they are still estimates in the end.
Job 1: Ad spies (find what's being advertised and scaled)
An ad spy searches millions of ads and shows which ones are running longest, getting the most engagement or getting more budget. The logic: nobody keeps paying for a losing ad. This is the paid version of scrolling the Meta Ad Library, with filters that save hours.
Winning Hunter: the best all-round ad spy
Winning Hunter covers Meta, TikTok and Pinterest ads, estimates ad spend and scaling, and adds a Shopify store tracker, TikTok Shop data and AI search. It claims 300M+ ads and 5M+ stores. It has no credits or usage limits, which sets it apart from most of this list.
- Price: Basic $49/month (Facebook ads and TikTok Shop, 25 tracked stores), Standard $79 (adds TikTok and Pinterest ads), Enterprise $249. Quarterly saves 15%, yearly 40% ($30, $48 and $150 a month).
- Start: free searching without a card. It doesn't publish a refund policy; you can cancel any time and keep access until the period ends.
- Reputation: 4.6 on Trustpilot from about 300 reviews, with praise for fast, friendly support.
- Watch out: Basic leaves out TikTok and Pinterest ads, so most people end up on Standard. Its store revenue is traffic × an assumed conversion rate, so it's a rough guess. It also publishes "reviews" of competitors, so read those with that in mind.
Minea: Meta ads, with a free plan
Minea is a Meta ad spy with product and shop listings, a brand tracker, AI ad analysis and daily niche lists. It claims 10M+ ads.
- Price: Starter $49/month, Premium $99, Business $199. Billed quarterly: $39, $79 and $158. Every plan includes a free .store domain. Its terms say prices are in euros, while the pricing page shows dollars, so check the currency at checkout.
- Start: a free Lite plan with limited credits.
- Reputation: 3.8 on Trustpilot from about 300 reviews. People like the speed; they complain about constant upgrade prompts and hard refunds.
- Watch out: TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat ads are marked "coming soon" on its own pricing page, so today it's a Meta tool. There are no refunds once you've paid, and because Minea applies Swiss law there's no 14-day cooling-off period. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
Job 2: Store spies (see what other Shopify stores sell)
A store spy lets you type in a Shopify store and see its estimated revenue, best-selling products and new launches. Useful for checking a competitor you found through an ad. Least useful for trusting the exact numbers (see the warning above).
PPSPY: broad and cheap to start
PPSPY tracks Shopify store sales, bestsellers, one-product stores, themes and traffic, and has a Meta ad tracker. It claims 1M+ active stores and 200M+ products.
- Price: Standard $39/month (30 trackers, 10,000 credits), Pro $99, Business $299. Yearly billing saves about 30%.
- Start: sign up with an email, no card.
- Watch out: no refunds of any kind, per its own refund policy. Only a handful of independent reviews exist, and those question how accurate its revenue data is. TikTok coverage is thin.
ShopHunter: hard to recommend right now
ShopHunter does one thing: estimate revenue and best-sellers for a Shopify store, with hourly updates and alerts when a store adds products.
- Price: not published. The pricing page is behind a login, and third-party sites quote anywhere from $35 to $75 for the entry plan.
- Start: reportedly a $1 trial that needs a card.
- Watch out: 1.6 on Trustpilot from 50 reviews, most of them about being charged the full price after cancelling the trial, and about revenue figures far higher than the store's real sales. Its affiliate program has also been shut down. Choose PPSPY instead if you want a store spy.
Job 3: All-in-ones (research plus store tools)
These combine product research with building and running the store: importing products, fulfilling orders, sometimes a course.
Sell The Trend: the best value for beginners
Sell The Trend pairs AI product research (NEXUS, drawing on TikTok, Facebook, Amazon, Shopify and AliExpress) with an AI store builder, one-click import from AliExpress and CJ, and order and inventory automation. It connects to Shopify, WooCommerce, TikTok Shop, Wix, eBay and Amazon.
- Price: Lite $29.97/month (25 imports, 10 research searches a day), Essential $49.97 (500 imports, unlimited research), Pro $99.97. Yearly: $19.97, $32.97 and $66.64 a month.
- Start: 14-day trial. It needs a card and bills automatically unless you cancel.
- Reputation: 4.7 on Trustpilot from more than 1,200 reviews, the best score here. Complaints are about a learning curve and confusing billing.
- Watch out: Lite is tight. If you plan to test more than a couple of products, budget for Essential.
Dropship.io: cheap, but check the fine print
Dropship.io has moved toward TikTok Shop: a sales tracker for TikTok shops and products, plus a Facebook ad library, a Shopify store spy, weekly hand-picked products and an included course. It imports into Shopify and AutoDS.
- Price: Basic $39/month, Standard $59, Premium $99. Yearly: $26, $34 and $49 a month, the cheapest yearly prices here. Everything runs on credits, and Basic's run out fast.
- Start: a 3-day trial that needs a card (the homepage says 7 days, the help centre 3). No refunds if you don't cancel in time.
- Watch out: Trustpilot has suspended its score after removing fake reviews. The tool itself may be fine, but go in with your eyes open and a calendar reminder.
Job 4: TikTok Shop analytics
If you sell on TikTok Shop, or as a TikTok Shop affiliate creator, you want sales data for products, shops, creators, videos and livestreams. These tools are more reliable than store spies, because TikTok shows sold counts publicly. TikTok Shop opened in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Poland on 15 June 2026.
FastMoss: the one for Europe
FastMoss tracks products, shops, creators, videos, ads and livestreams, with AI review analysis, video transcripts and a free Chrome extension. Its Europe plan covers ten markets, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.
- Price in the EU: Basic €42/month, Pro €76, Ultimate €118; yearly around €40, €61 and €77 a month. In the US: $49, $89 and $139. The first month is heavily discounted, so month two costs noticeably more.
- Start: 7 days free, no card and no automatic renewal.
- Watch out: you pay per region, so the US and Europe are two subscriptions. Basic keeps only 28 days of history and 10 exports a month. There are almost no independent reviews yet.
Kalodata: deep, but prices behind a sign-up
Kalodata goes deep on TikTok Shop products, brands, creators, videos and livestreams, with up to 1,000 days of history. It says itself that its sales and ad-spend figures are estimates.
- Price: shown only after you sign up. Third-party sites put the entry plan at roughly $46–50 a month.
- Start: 7 days free, no card.
- Watch out: it covers the US, UK and the large EU markets, but we couldn't confirm data for the Netherlands. Its few Trustpilot reviews include complaints about charges after cancelling.
Before you pay: four rules
- Cancel trials a day early. Most of these tools don't refund, and several bill automatically the moment the trial ends. Put the date in your calendar when you sign up.
- Start monthly. The yearly discounts are big, but only lock in once you know you'll use the tool every week.
- One tool, not three. Pick the job that matches how you find products, and use the free sources for the rest.
- Check every find the free way. A product from any tool still goes through the same overlap rule and five-point check: at least three times your landed cost, delivery under ten days, and a benefit you can show in seconds.
The verdict
- You find products through ads: Winning Hunter. Minea if you want a free plan first.
- You want to check what competitor stores sell: PPSPY, with the numbers taken as direction only.
- You want research, store and fulfilment in one: Sell The Trend.
- You sell on TikTok Shop in Europe: FastMoss.
Whichever you pick, the tool only shortens the search. The product still has to prove itself in a small test, and then you build the page and promote it. The whole loop is on the Sell Online shelf.
Questions we actually get
What is the best product research tool for dropshipping in 2026?→
It depends on where you find products. For sellers who find winners through Meta, TikTok and Pinterest ads, Winning Hunter is the strongest all-round pick: from $49/month ($30 billed yearly), no usage limits, no card needed to start and 4.6 on Trustpilot from about 300 reviews. Beginners who want research plus a store builder in one subscription do well with Sell The Trend, from $29.97/month.
Are store spy revenue estimates accurate?→
No, not reliably. These tools estimate a Shopify store's sales from public signals such as traffic, product changes and ad activity, and none publishes its method in detail. Users have documented stores shown at $175,000 to $200,000 a month that really made under $1,000. Use the numbers to compare stores and spot trends, never as proof that a product is profitable.
Which product research tool has a free plan?→
Minea has a free, credit-limited Lite plan. Winning Hunter and PPSPY let you start searching free without a card. FastMoss and Kalodata offer 7-day trials without a card. Sell The Trend (14 days) and Dropship.io (3 days) need a card for the trial and bill automatically unless you cancel.
Which tool shows TikTok Shop data for the Netherlands?→
FastMoss. Its Europe plan covers ten markets including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France, priced in euros from €42/month (as of September 2026). TikTok Shop opened in the Netherlands on 15 June 2026. Kalodata covers the UK and the big EU markets, but we could not confirm Dutch data.
Do I need a paid product research tool to start dropshipping?→
No. A free 30-minute routine with TikTok Creative Center, the Meta Ad Library, Amazon Movers & Shakers and Google Trends finds enough products for your first tests. A paid tool earns its price once you test several products a week and the manual research becomes the bottleneck.
